Growing up, fluency in english was praised upon, but a lesser known fact is that academic vocabulary differs from what we speak in our mundane life. And to be honest, these are the words which appear in TOEFL, well why shouldn’t it? IVY league is no joke. 



5. Look at other curriculums too


Memorize and incorporate words from GRE, ACT and other exams as it would help you build your word bank. Suffixes and Prefixes have meanings So, learn them as they would help you get a gist and hint of the word.



6. How to choose the test date?


Choose test dates at least 6months before just in case you want to work on strengthening.


7. Categorize your weakness


It is highly imperative to categorize your weakness. You must figure out which areas need more time e.g. 


·         Content weakness- whether you the quality of your content is upto the standards or not


·          Format- Are you able to give your best in the 


 current strategy you have planned. 


·         Pronunciation- Should you work on your spoken english? Is it fluent enough?




8. No penalties for wrong answers


Attempt every question, you never know what might help you at the last-hour to get into an IVY League college. 


9. Practice reading complex texts


Train your mouth to read complex words so that it gets used to it and Hence, it would also improve your pronunciation.  


10. Skip difficult questions and return to them later


Don’t waste your precious on just one question, if you can’t figure it out, leave it and then resume later.
