Here are some tips for IELTS preparation -

  1. Concentrate on your health

It’s a process. Rome wasn’t built in a day and your band score won’t too. Concentrate on things that actually matter, give time to yourself. Drink your tea, eat healthy and exercise. Exercise helps reduce stress, makes you productive, increases your concentration and alot more but for the start, proceed with enhancing the strength of your mind, physically and mentally.

  1. Read before you Listen

Before the Listening section starts, Read the questions to be attempted, so that you know what you have to look for while listening. It eases the task when you beforehand get a gist of it.

  1. Check grammar and spellings

As mentioned above it’s a process, for which you have to work towards very diligently. Make sure while you prepare that you include every step in the way. Grammar and spellings will not only enhance your band score it will improve your English in the long run as well. It’s better to correct your mistakes in the preparations than waste time getting stuck up in the exam.

  1. Tune yourself to write within the required limit only

Your main aim is to crack the exam and get a good score. Don’t go overboard with your enthusiasm and start writing paragraphs; always keep in mind the word limit, to save time and be efficient in the content you write.

  1. Concentrate on sections which carry more marks

It’s very practical if the weightage of the task is more it will be complex and more time consuming,  So pay attention to your weak areas which in turn will come out as strong to improve your pitfalls. If your basics are strong the goal will itself come one step close and thus, get you a good score.

  1. Do a lot of test papers with time limit

So how do you think you’ll know your stumbling block when you haven’t fought the battle in the battlefield itself? There’s no other way. Practice a lot of test papers so you know how well you are able to manage your time in pressure and and experience how it will be to actually give the exam.

  1. For the speaking section, Listen before you speak

Speaking requires listening first, you can read as much as you want but what is the point if you are pronouncing it the wrong way again and again. There is a difference between Smart work and hard work.
